Fakeblok

Fakeblok was created to battle fake news that dominated Facebook, the most used social media platform in the Philippines, after the 2016 presidential elections.

To help block fake news, we created a Google Chrome plug-in that tells the user to approach an article with caution if it’s not from a verified source. The list of fake news sources is moderated and maintained by the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility and the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines up to this day.
